Great Expectations

This Food Recommendation Friday goes to Great Expectations! Great Expectations is a catering business that also has an Eatery restaurant. They cater the Lunch by the River events hosted by Heart of Wisconsin, along with many others. Their Eatery restaurant is opened Monday through Friday from 11am to 2pm, enjoy open hours while evenings and weekends are reserved for your private gatherings serving detail conscious, custom-created menus that highlight our area's bounty. Great Expectations lives up to their name with everything they do, whether it’s catering an event or simply supplying their eatery restaurant with marvelous food. One unique thing about their restaurant is that they’re committed to using ingredients grown, packaged and distributed within 100 miles of Wisconsin Rapids. They view their supply chain as an opportunity to keep money flowing through the local economy. Owners, Amy and Ryan Scheide have 60 plus years of experience in the food industry, both are very passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated to their business. Now their food is something to be excited about. They have the most scrumptious chip dip I have ever encountered. Their Hot Beef Italian Style is a masterpiece, and their Portabella Parmesan is vibrant and filling. All in all, they have a wonderful menu, beautiful atmosphere, and a dedicated staff. That being said, here’s a little side note from Great Expectations:

Our Eatery is the area’s premiere luncheon destination for fresh daily specials, homemade soups, desserts worth saving room for and a unique trendy menu changed seasonally. Customers love the eclectic offerings that show a dedication to local food purchase. Some our favorites include:

Mushroom Patty Melt – Kase Meister’s morel and leek jack melted atop a patty of WI beef with a sautéed array of mushrooms, caramelized onions and garlic spread served on hearty wheat
