Run for a Cause - Renaissance Race Against Cancer

Image
6 th Annual Renaissance Race Against Cancer Saturday – June 11 th , 2016 Renaissance Race Against Cancer first started back in 2011. Two Renaissance employees, Dodie Berard and Cynde Krug, who lost their battles with cancer in late 2010, inspired the race. As more and more of our co-workers, friends, and neighbors are diagnosed with this disease, the annual race provides an ongoing opportunity for all participants to honor and support friends and loved ones also affected. All proceeds from the event provide much-needed resources to the Patient Care Fund at the Aspirus UW Cancer Center Riverview. This fund helps local cancer patients by removing barriers that might otherwise restrict access to the life-saving treatment everyone deserves. It provides assistance in the form of gas cards to allow patients to get to and from treatment, co-pays for medicine, necessary supplies not covered by insurance, and even things like replacement hot-water heaters if needed. Old history that still stands keeps the history alive for years. Nekoosa Wisconsin’s history is written across the town. From the murals on Market Street, created by Nekoosa High School students, to the old library/city hall, which has been restored into the town’s favorite pizza place, Goodfella’s.  It’s no mystery why Goodfella’s Pizza is a big hit with the locals. One customer told me “our family thinks it’s the best pizza place in the Tri Lake area!” After eating their amazing BBQ Chicken pizza I could understand why. Goodfella’s Pizza is simply that delicious. Their specialty pizzas will leave you feeling like you just hit big on the pizza lottery. The first big win in this pizza lottery is their mouth watering Buffalo Chicken Pizza, made with buffalo wing sauce, chicken, onion, green peppers, and pineapple. The next big win on
