Baker Street Grill is absolutely breath taking. Walking inside you’ll first notice their magnificent pumpkin that reads “Welcome Friends”. Glancing around the room you’ll noticed all the decorations covering the walls. In the bar there are signs that will speak to your inner Wisconsinite and in the dinning room there are beautiful photographs. Local artists created each photograph and many of them are for sale. I found their stop light to be the coolest decoration; it reads “Bars Open, Last Call, Bars Closed.” Just the interior will sweep you off your feet.



Now their food is something to be excited about. With lunch and dinner menus that satisfy, you simply can’t go wrong. Start out your meal with one of their fresh salads. Try the classic Caesar salad or switch things up with a taco salad. Not big on salads? No worries! Bakers Street Grill has fantastic appetizers. The Sunshine Bruschetta, Cajun seasoned and blackened sushi grade yellow fin tuna, will brighten your day and their Coconut Shrimp will make your mouth water. For lunchtime, try one of their savory burgers or sandwiches. The Baker Street Burger is a classic. One bite into the burger, all sorts of flavors will burst into your cheeks. Can’t forget to mention that they have the finest mushrooms I’ve ever eaten. They’re infused with flavor and are truly one of a kind. 



For dinner one of my favorite things to order is their Baked Cold Water Lobster Tail. It was included on their dinner special last Tuesday night (November 10th) when I stopped in. The Lobster Tail was served with melted butter that sweetened the flavor and delectable veggies. The whole Lobster Tail meal was extremely gratifying. On that Tuesday night I also ordered a slice of their pumpkin cheesecake to go, and let me tell you how truly amazing it was! After eating the slice of pumpkin cheesecake I regretted not ordering the whole entire cake! The creamy texture, the crumbly crust and the pumpkin flavor had me falling head over heels! I can’t wait to go back and order another slice or two of that cheesecake. Stop into Baker Street Grill for an outstanding meal and a heavenly desert!

The Heart of Wisconsin Committee Leadership program completed its fourth session on Thursday, January 7th, 2021 at the Wood Country Court House facilitated by Jason Gruenenberg. This day was filled with community leaders from various areas within the local government. They provided information that helped participants gain a better understanding of local government and its involvement. The morning included a thorough tour of the Wood County jail observing some of the day-to-day operations, a visit to the Circuit Court with Judge Todd Wolfe, and a panel discussion with Patrick Testin, 24th District Senator, Arne Systrom, Town of Grand Rapids Chairman and Kenneth Curry, Wood County Board Supervisor District 11. The afternoon continued with a visit from the County Clerk, Human Services, Sherriff’s Department, Highway Commissioner, and the County Board Chair.
