Lunch by the River is your opportunity to make your way to Veterans' Memorial Park (112 2nd Street South Wisconsin Rapids, WI) to enjoy entertainment and good food along the Wisconsin River. Every Thursday running until the end of August, from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm enjoy a taste of Wisconsin Rapids with different food vendors and entertainment from various groups in the community. Each week is sponsored by a different business and is sure to be a favorite summertime event. Don't leave without stopping at the custard stand!


  


For this Lunch by the River enjoy the taste of Rocky Rococo’s, Jamaican Kitchens, Great Expectations, LHS Hockey Booster Club, and Klaus Treat. Enjoy great entertainment from Jack Secret Band. The Heart of Wisconsin Committee Leadership program completed its fourth session on Thursday, January 7th, 2021 at the Wood Country Court House facilitated by Jason Gruenenberg. This day was filled with community leaders from various areas within the local government. They provided information that helped participants gain a better understanding of local government and its involvement. The morning included a thorough tour of the Wood County jail observing some of the day-to-day operations, a visit to the Circuit Court with Judge Todd Wolfe, and a panel discussion with Patrick Testin, 24th District Senator, Arne Systrom, Town of Grand Rapids Chairman and Kenneth Curry, Wood County Board Supervisor District 11. The afternoon continued with a visit from the County Clerk, Human Services, Sherriff’s Department, Highway Commissioner, and the County Board Chair.
